Welcome to the United Steelworkers Local 787/Bridgestone OTR Career Development Center website. This is the Career Development website of the craftsmen and women of USW 787 who build the world's largest and strongest bias tire at the Bridgestone plant in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois.
The current ICD (Institute for Career Development) program was started in November 2007 to provide educational opportunities for job enhancement, personal development and successful retirement for Local 787 members.
In addition, Local 787 members are eligible to receive Tuition Assistance funds to attend classes at other educational institutions.
Wives, husbands (or signifigant others) may partcipate in ICD classes with their USW members spouses at no cost. Just include the names of both people in the registration materials!

The ICD program is funded by the team of members of the local union in conjunction with Bridgestone and is locally controlled. Most classes are conducted in partnership with Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois.
